Planning Permission
Right, you’ve got your plot and the mortgage is in place so now you’re ready to Getbuilding!
Well nearly………. planning permission is the next step. If your plot already has detailed planning permission and you are happy to build exactly what is on those plans then you will not need to put in a further application. If you have a plot with outline planning permission then you will need to put in a detailed planning application to the relevant council planning department.
Ask the Architect
Usually architects are able to advise on what the council are or are not likely to pass in terms of planning permission applications.
Ask the Council
As well as your architect, your local planning authority should be available to discuss your project. Although you don't have to agree with the planning authority it can help to get an idea of what they are looking for and can avoid permission being refused for smoething that you may be willing to comprimise on in the first instance.
