So you've made the decision to build a house, now it's time to find your plot. Where should you start? Although not all estate agents sell land, the majority do so this could be your best starting point. Check out the windows of your local estate agents or use an online search like Rightmove.co.uk where there are houses and plots from a variety of different estate agents, but don't forget there are other agents that do not appear on websites like this.

Do you want to build a Dutch bungalow, a three-storey town house, or a detached victorian mansion? There are various types of build that you can choose from, but how do you make a decision on which one is right for your plot?

There are few things that we believe will help your build along. Firstly – make sure your insured. Site insurance is very important, covering you for theft of materials as well as for personal injury should somebody be injured either working on your site or trespassing on it.
